Global growth of instant payments

The global growth of instant payment schemes has accelerated rapidly over the past few years as consumers and businesses demand faster, more convenient 24/7 transaction capabilities. As payment limits increase and the volume of transactions grow exponentially, the need for real-time insights, accurate forecasting and liquidity controls has become imperative.

Hiring the world’s best talent

Planixs has always focused on hiring the best talent in the market to design, build and operate its Realiti product suite for customers. Paul is a well-known industry expert in the field of payments and was recently the President of New Payment Platforms at Mastercard and President of GoCardless. Paul will be advising and assisting the Board and Leadership Team in their growth strategy into payment schemes globally.

“We are absolutely delighted to welcome Paul to join our Board as an advisor,” said Neville Roberts, CEO and Founder of Planixs.

“Paul is one of the most respected leaders in the global payments industry, and his knowledge, expertise and network are second to none. His experience at the centre of global payment scheme innovation will be invaluable as Planixs continues to extend its real-time liquidity capabilities across banking, payments infrastructure and adjacent markets.”

Paul Stoddart commented, “I have admired Planixs and their real-time capabilities for many years and welcome the opportunity to help them in their global growth strategy. The growth of instant payments across the world represents a significant opportunity for Planixs to enable firms to control, manage and optimise their payments and liquidity.”

Planixs Realiti: Real-time instant payment scheme capabilities

In July 2025, Planixs released Realiti RT, its next-generation real-time treasury solution suite delivering outstanding performance, enterprise-grade resilience, and an intuitive new user experience to institutions of any scale. Part of this release included the capability to consume and manage high-volume transactions from instant payment schemes. This release and capability has already been deployed across a number of Planixs’ customers. As Planixs progresses its investment programme that further embeds AI into its Realiti software suite, it will deliver advanced forecasting, regulatory and reporting capabilities specific to instant payment schemes.

Planixs’ instant payment scheme growth

Planixs has already provided instant payment scheme capabilities to the UK and European markets and is expanding in these two regions as part of its global growth in this space. Leveraging its market-leading Realiti capabilities, Planixs’ ambition is to provide instant payment schemes around the world with the necessary tools and AI-driven forecasting insight to lower operational risk, provide regulatory reporting and optimise liquidity needs.
